"This medallion layout Persian rug is surely appropriate for bringing a spot of light in any room. Its inner and outer borders are beautifully designed with foliage motifs on the blue background; its medallion is also great for its blue, red and brown colors as well as for the surrounding roses on its outer margin, but what truly makes this Persian rug so special is its main border and its field. This Persian rug's main border is divided in two parts. One has red for the background and the other one has gold. The delimitations between these two parts are designed with ivory, blue and brown. The field on the other hand is more unusual because instead of the details agglomeration we find the ivory background. The ornaments are few and of larger size. This feature is providing a great amount of lightness and harmony. Another advantage is that the decorative motifs are highly visible and can be enjoyed better."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
