"This Persian rug's borders occupy a lot of space because this is a very big carpet. The Persian rug has an ivory background and the workmanship is exceptional. We are dealing with a medallion design, painted in many colors. The rosette in the center of the medallion is outlined in fine colors of gray, brown, ivory and blue. Then it is framed by a black colored concentric medallion and contoured using a very light blue. Finally, the medallion is surrounded again by one brown medallion, alternating with purple color. This entire medallion is surrounded by flowers like roses nicely woven with green leaves."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
