"In this picture we see that the natural environment includes not only flowers and leaves, so common in Persian carpets, but brightly colored birds and animals. The pictorial carpet is very good having a very nice natural coloring applied. It is richly embellished a it has a remarkable naturalness. We notice a vase as supported by two birds. Bottom corners of the carpet shows two deer. We have various representations of the tree of life, a very important symbol used in Persian carpets workmanship. The birds are also present on the middle edge of the Persian rug and what stands out is that the carpet designer has left his signature on edge."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
