"This carpet has an excellent quality because it is worked entirely with wool on a silk base. The quality is obvious from the fact that it was handmade with 550 KPSI. The ivory background of the image is natural, with applications of grey for the interior leafs. The design is medallion and its coloration is more dynamic than the rest of the carpet colors. It's a dark red color and very strong. Its inner rim is pierced on each of the two sides within the carpet interior. Each of the two borders, interior and exterior, is pierced from place to place with the middle border motifs."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
