"Benefiting from an exquisite beauty, this carpet combines bright colors applied on a blue and bright background. We are dealing with ivory color as the background and the red for the background of the middle border. The middle border is traversed by the Shah Abbasi motif that is painted in bright colors. The leaves that surround the flowers are absolutely graceful. The design of the center medallion combines the same colors as the middle border and the inner corners of the Persian rug to create a unified image of the carpet. Around the medallion we see strongly colored flowers and leaves thru the using of intense and natural colors."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
