"The Persian rug is designed on a navy background, a color which gives the image a certain sobriety. The ivory which frames the image is a color that offers the Persian rug's image more brightness. The Persian rug design is medallion and a rosette motif is placed in its center. The main border shows beautifully shaped floral motifs and their natural colors. The borders are not properly delimited, from place to place flowers or leaves ornaments crossing all the three borders. The Persian rug is designed in perfect symmetry. Its high quality is evident through its wool pile and natural silk foundation."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
