"The Persian rug in this image benefits from a wide variety of colors. The middle of the Persian rug shows a vase of flowers outlined in dark colors, with intrusions of ivory. Near this vase, on the bottom side we can see the motif cypress a symbol of serenity and of rebirth. In other parts of the carpet we can see two more vases full of colorful flowers and in which roses are easily recognized. The rose is a symbol of innocence but also of passion. Under each of the three vases are images with birds placed near the flowers. The parrot is the symbolism of protection in Persian carpets design."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
