The Persian rug's design combines naturally appealing colors that are particularly joyful. The ivory background and the colors of the applied floral decorations and their outlines are great examples of such colors. The medallion design also features powerful colors like red and gray which are found on the Persian rug's borders too. The lotus and pomegranate flowers from the main border are colored with gray and outlined with black. The inner and outer borders are also gray and decorated with floral ornaments. On the outer border we see the designer's signature. Another often used motif in the image of this Persian rug is cloudy bands motif.
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
