"Blue symbolizes power, strength and solitude and makes you think about the afterlife. This color is predominantly used throughout this Persian rug's design specifically for its floral and foliage decorations. The Persian rug has an ivory background over which blue shaded floral motifs are applied also featuring other colors like beige and green. The centered medallion is outlined with dark red, beige and gray. The medallion's outlines are colored with blue and black. The main border is decorated with the Shah-Abassi motifs on top of the red background."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
