This Persian rug's medallion design is applied over a navy background. The medallion uses a rosette motif which combines throughout its design the same colors used for the rest of the Persian rug's field. The main border is beige as well as the medallion's center and works out some sort of brightening effect. The lotus and pomegranate flowers from the edge of the medallion are colored in gray blue and ivory. Although the image is full of decorations it doesn't exhaust the eyes. Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
