"The peony and pomegranate flowers which cross the main border are alternated with considerably large iris flowers. Colors are very various, ranging from green and ivory, to blue and pink combinations. The red background of the Persian rug's field gives the idea of dynamism and vitality. The medallion from the center of the Persian rug is outlined and colored in blue, navy and ivory. The entire picture of the Persian rug is filled with flowers and leaves designed with bright, intense colors. The floral decorations feature a wide range of types and colors and outlined with great finesse and skill."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
