"The picture we have in front of us is very rich in decorations. However this doesn't bother the eyes, but rather delights them. Over the ivory background heavily contoured and colored, floral motifs were applied. The medallion colors are matching the main border and field inner corners. The main border has a brown background color, that symbolizes fertility, and its corners are gray. The central medallion combines the same colors and is covered with lotus and peony flowers. Inner and outer borders also feature the same gray color which can be observed on the Persian rug's inner corners."
Tabriz Rugs
The rugs manufactured in the city of Tabriz also are of great finesse. Their predominant colors are red, blue and ivory. They offer strong contrasts in the rug’s image but also inspire serenity and beauty. Most are hand-knotted on a soft cotton foundation using a combination of wool and silk.
