"The center image of the Persian rug shows the interior of a mosque, which is the characteristic image of a Gombad design Persian rug. This image forwards the idea of depth if you look carefully in its center. It is painted in colors of brown with intrusions of beige, gold and ivory, but outlined with navy in the center. The background of the Persian rug is ivory providing a great brightening effect. The main border shows the same color shades as the central image of the Persian rug and matches its general image. It is a Persian rug of very good quality made of pure wool on a silk foundation."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
