"The Persian rug's brightly colored floral decorations are designed on top of a navy background. As often met in Isfahan style Persian rugs the border's inner margins are not linear, but are delimited by their decorations outlines. The central image shows a vase filled with flowers, which is outlined in blue and surrounded by ivory. The flowers are red with blue contours, golden with ivory contours or pink with red outlines. The main border is filled in a pleasant way with colorful flowers that expresses the skills of those who worked on this Persian rug."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
