"This Persian rug is precisely framed by its well delimited borders. The borders are fixed, the inner and outer one being gray while the main border is black. The red background is contrasting through its natural color with the borders and the medallion design placed on top of it is painted in shades of ivory, navy and red. The inner corners of the Persian rug are ivory and they also contrast with the rest of the Persian rug. The lotus, pomegranate and Peony flowers are outlined in bright colors that brighten the whole image. The Persian rug quality is great considering that is made of natural wool on a silk foundation."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
