"The image provided by this Persian rug is very dense and full of intertwined finely drawn outlines. The Persian rug's design is medallion and its field has a light blue background. The medallion is outlined in red and colored with shades of blue, navy and brown which match the main border color scheme. The inner and outer borders are colored in bright ivory surrounding the red main border. The outlines are accurately drawn suggesting very high skills in Persian rugs hand-knotting. The Persian rug is weaved in wool on a pure silk foundation."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
