"What draws attention at this Persian rug model is the large amount of space used by its central medallion. It reaches the outer border and is nicely colored with brown, gray and blue. This medallion is composed of several concentric smaller medallions decorated with bouquets of flowers with green, brown, yellow, ivory and blue outlines. Each corner of the Persian rug has a vase filled with many flowers that covers both its border and the field corners. The outer border has only one delimitation line, the outside edge being composed of a sequence of flowers wreaths."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
