"This Persian rug has an allover design and its general image is very bright. The brightness coming from the field makes a nice contrast with the natural shade of red from the main border. The leaf decorations colors are also contrasting the color from the background. The lotus, Peony and pomegranate flowers are colored dark red, green or navy with very few additions of ivory. These flowers are the symbols of rebirth, power and fertility. Lanceolate leaves are nuanced in two colors and are richly decorated. They are also symbols of power and are often found in carpets adornment."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
