"This Persian rug's pictorial design displays battle scenery. The Background is beige, representing the desert sand. The cavalry horses are intensely colored with brown and black. The sky image has blue-gray color, representing a less friendly nature. The main border of the Persian rug shows images of building entrances, and from place to place even the whole building body appears. What is significant is the water mirrored effect used for the buildings. Water is a very important element for life especially considering their geographical location. Throughout the border's design the blue color is abundant. It represents strength but also solitude."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
