The carpet looks very interesting and somehow special. Its pictorial design shows the image of a woman and a man. The man holds in his left hand a cup of wine and the woman is holding a jug. They seem like giving the drinks to the two men at their feet. The sky is gray and in the background the image of the tree of life can be seen. This tree has a special symbolism in Persian Persian rugs designs; he represents the most direct path from earth to heaven. #9529
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
