"This Persian rug's field rusty background creates a beautiful contrast with the black main border background. To the rust colored background, white and springtime green are added. The centered green is a symbol of hope, life and rebirth. The navy, different shades of blue and brown which completes the Herati motif color scheme create a special chromatic field meant to be aesthetically pleasant and inviting for the eyes. Two variations of the Herati motif are present. The Persian rug's field one is usually small and represented through a diamond with flowers in each of its corners. For the main border the Herati motif is larger and consists of a rosette style flower surrounded by two lanceolate leafs. ORD#11984
Tabriz Rugs
The rugs manufactured in the city of Tabriz also are of great finesse. Their predominant colors are red, blue and ivory. They offer strong contrasts in the rug’s image but also inspire serenity and beauty. Most are hand-knotted on a soft cotton foundation using a combination of wool and silk.
