"The image of this Persian rug is very busy and rich of decorative motifs. It is designed on a red background, a color of great power and symbolism. Representations of flowers and leaves abound in the picture. The Persian rug design is medallion and uses colors of beige, gray, ivory with brown and navy here and there. The inner and outer borders are designed on an ivory background while the main border is painted black. Both border's colors are natural, very powerful and contrasting with the field's background. The field corners appear beige, each being decorated with a vase with flowers, outlined in shades of navy, brown and ivory."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
