"The image of this Persian rug is very airy and yet very rich of floral motifs. The navy background is perhaps a bit too formal, but the brighter border color is extremely pleasant. The borders are not accurately delimited and flowers ornaments gracefully undulate passing over their area. The field medallion design is contoured and surrounded by wreaths of leaves colored in a very strong shade of red. The rich leaves decorations applied to the Persian rug's surface painted in bright color shades convey the idea of endless regeneration. The borders are crossed by strongly outlined and colored lotus and pomegranate flowers."
Tabriz Rugs
The rugs manufactured in the city of Tabriz also are of great finesse. Their predominant colors are red, blue and ivory. They offer strong contrasts in the rug’s image but also inspire serenity and beauty. Most are hand-knotted on a soft cotton foundation using a combination of wool and silk.
