"We see that this Persian rug shows a contrast often found in Persian carpets worked in Isfahan city. It is the contrast between the carpet background colour that is red and the middle borderÆs color that is black. This carpet design is medallion and is very symmetrical. The rosette combines colors like navy, red, green, ivory and gray in the most natural manner possible. Lotus flowers are colored in gray, ivory and brown with red outlines. Inner corners of the carpet combines two strong colors namely ivory and navy."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
