"This little mat is worked with great skill. It has an ivory background on witch has been applied a medallion motif. This central medallion carpet is colored in shades of brown, orange and blue and is outlined in very dark shades. This carpet image is not crowded. The Persian rug shows some strains that undulate gracefully and intertwined and from place to place we can distinguish some flowers richly embellished. The predominant flowers are roses colored in red and pink, shades that combine fully. From the inner Persian rug we see some strains that passes beyond the interior border and reaching the middle border. #10475"
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
