"With some colors that strike the eye with their intensity, the carpet in this image has a small size but is beutifuly worked. It has a medallion design and a ivory background. It contrasts sharply, yet very natural and pleasant with the red middle edge of the carpet. The inner and outer border background is grey and has applied floral motifs that incorporate some red spots. The medallion is painted in shades of ivory, brown, dark brown, blue and green. Pomegranate and lotus flowers are outlined in blue and green with strong navy. The picture is very nice and very good quality."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
