"Besides the brightness that comes from the ivory background, the image has a special glow due to the very light colors that are used. This carpet design is the medallion and is colored in blue and brown with navy outlines. The leaves are spear-type using brown and navy color, colors that blend naturally. The brown edge is crossed by Shah-Abbas motif outlined in dark brown hues with bright Peony flowers around. The flowers in this image are colored in blue. This color is representative of power and strength but also solitude. It is the color that conjures to afterlife."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
