"In this carpet red is used for coloring the flowers and the leaves. This color is a symbol of faith, beauty, of wealth and courage. The medallion design of the carpet includes shades of red, ivory, and navy blue. Peony flowers and pomegranate are colored using red but and also green. Interior corners are colored in various shades of red, darker or lighter. The Persian rugÆs edge is black and pleasantly contrasts both with the center of the medallion and the ivory background of the carpet. The inner and outer borders are blue with red flowers that match with the interior carpet."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
