"We find here a very common design type used in almost all of Isfahan city Persian rugs namely the medallion design. This design is nuanced thru colors like ivory, blue and red and using great delicacy and naturalness. The colors of the medallion are matching the Persian rugs edge creating a sensation of unity. Peony flowers and pomegranate from inside the Persian rug are designed using colors like blue and green creating a charming effect. The ivory background of the Persian rug makes the image clear and relaxing. The inner corners of the carpet are red and contain the same colors as the medallion."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
