"The general picture of the carpet is very dark, having a navy background. The image is quite crowded but it has a natural feeling, with flowers and leaves using strong colors. For the pomegranate, lotus and peony flowers the colors brown, blue and red are used. The spear type leaves are richly decorated and in shades of beige and brown. The edge of the Persian rug is raised from place to place and we notice that is not a straight line to it from corner to corner of the carpet. The medallion design and the workmanship are fine additions to the Persian rug."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
