"We have in front of us a pictorial image that represents the animal kingdom and the plant world. Drawn in the foreground we see a vase with rosettes, lotus and peony flowers. The vase is shaped with ivory and blue and that contrasts pleasantly with the red background of the Persian rug. We can distinguish some blooming tress and next to them some animals. The birds that are flying above the vase have strong colors, which combine naturally with the rest of the carpet. The inner corners of the carpet are blue and ivory. The entire edge of the carpet frames the hole picture into a sober tone."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
