"The carpet in this picture is worked using very light shades. The Background is ivory and it has an allover design. Note that is built in a perfect symmetry that combines natural colors. Floral motifs are painted in shades of green, red and brown. These colors are very strong and applied on the light shade background makes them appear more lively. The middle edge is colored in a shade of beige and we see that the inner and outer border is not clearly defined. This is because the motifs from inside the middle border are interspersed with the interior and exterior ones."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
