"The Persian rug in this image has a very crowded image but in the same time intensely colored. Carpet design is medallion and it is painted in shades of red, blue and gray and with ivory and navy outlines. The background is ivory and it makes the colors used inside be more prominent. Inner corners of the carpet are beige with blue and the contours are navy. The leaves are spear-type colored with brown and gray. Lotus and Peony flowers are symbols of rebirth and power and enrich our carpetÆs image. The Persian rug in worked entirely with wool using 550 KPSI."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
