"This carpet has excellent coloration because it combines some natural shades in a perfect manner. The medallion design of the carpet is very common. The background is ivory and it invites the viewer to relaxation. The inner corners of the carpet are worked in shades of brown and blue with floral applications as the inside of the carpet. The interior includes peony and lotus flowers colored in shades of green, blue, red and beige. The outlines are done with great finesse and skill."
Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves. The quality of these rugs is very high and the colors used for the interior motifs are blue, brown, ivory, green and more, all of them featuring an obvious naturalness.
