"This medallion layout Isfahan style Persian rug features a great variety of colors and graphic motifs. Starting from the borders we can spot the lotus and iris flowers colored in light blue and surrounded by lanceolate leafs of darker blue, navy and brown. All these ornaments are placed against a gold colored background. The field is navy and the beautiful Shah Abassi motifs are colored in gold, blue, green, brown and even orange. The point of attraction for this Persian rug is the rosette medallion which through its design looks like a blooming flower bouquet. Isfahan Rugs
Isfahan has long been one of the most important manufacturing centers for Persian rugs. The rugs here are usually designed using an ivory background and the ornaments are symmetrical and balanced. We find in the central part of the rug a medallion that is surrounded by floral motifs and palmetto leaves.
